Rita RaleyRita Raley is Assistant Professor of English at the University of California, Santa Barbara where she is also co-director of the department’s Literature and Culture of Information Specialization. Her research interests include digital texts and electronic culture; globalization and global culture; global English and language theory and history. She is currently working on two books, Global English and the Academy and Tactical Media, a study of new media writing and art in relation to neoliberal globalization.

Raley spent two weeks at the National Humanities Center in Ocotober 2006. During that time she led a seminar discussion on the impact of digital communications media on performance art and the democratizing effects of digital technology.

Raley visited the National Humanities Center in the fall 2006, as a visitor with the ASC project.
